Today evoked some personal memories of things with a Scottish connection.

* The heady holiday liqueur, Drambuie

* The Shorthorn breed, the border collie, the Highlander brand of cattle feed.

* Oats for the bairn and barn.

* Oregon wool, Eastern Oregon sheepmen, Pendleton Mills and Indian blankets.

* Harris Tweed, the crofters and

* The Scottish Renaissance, (1750-1850) medical education, banking, Scots Law, managing the Empire,

* The history of the American Revolution, Princeton , North Carolina and the Cheeokee Nation.

* The Scottish Games in Dixon CA and the history of the Scottish Rite Temples, the Free Masons, and the Caledonean Society.
